A CHT has a minimum of three years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy, and has successfully passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper limb rehabilitation. Because of changes in the profession, every CHT is required to demonstrate continued professional development and competency by recertifying every five years.

A: Payment for your e-Permit courses is made to CSI, NOT the Host College. Students eligible for financial aid are to apply through their Home College and are responsible for meeting any credit load requirements. Tuition is calculated based on the Host college credits. A: To obtain a degree, associates or baccalaureate, from the College of Staten Island students must earn a minimum of 30 credits through courses taken at the College. To qualify for a bachelor's degree from the College, students must also earn at least half (50%) of the credits required for the major through courses taken at the College. To obtain a One-Year Certificate from the College of Staten Island , at least half (50%) of the required credits must be earned in courses taken at the College.
A: Students who leave the College before the end of a term must withdraw online through their CUNYfirst accounts before the withdrawal deadline published in the Academic Calendar. Failure to do so will result in WU grades for all courses in progress, and the result will be a negative impact on the grade point average. There is no formal leave of absence from the College for undergraduates.
Minnesotans wishing to receive motorcycle license endorsement through the BRC must be age 18 or older and have a motorcycle instruction permit in hand. Riders under age 18 are required to take the course to obtain a motorcycle permit.

On January 1, 2003, legislation (Senate Bill 1402) became law that requires occupational therapists offering services in hand therapy, physical agent modalities, and/or swallowing assessment, evaluation or intervention to demonstrate, through post-professional education and training, that they are competent to do so. This legislation became operative on January 1, 2004 and implementing regulations took effect March 9, 2004.
A panel of experts will review your application for compliance with the OTPA and applicable regulations. You will be notified as quickly as possible if additional information is needed. Once your application has been approved, you will receive a new pocket license that reflects the area(s) of advanced practice in which you have been approved.
